Born from a love of bold design and meaningful craftsmanship, we specialize in hand-burned, custom hats that are as unique as the people who wear them. Every piece is created with care, intention, and a spark of creativity that sets it apart from the ordinary.

Whether you’re commissioning a one-of-a-kind design or joining us in the studio to make your own, we’re here to help you express your individuality with style. Our DIY hat experiences are designed for everyone—even if you don’t think you’re creative (spoiler alert: you are).

We’re proud to be based in Illinois, where we host private parties, community events, and walk-in sessions in our cozy studio space. And when we're not creating custom hats, we're giving back-- through fundraisers, local donations, and partnerships that support causes close to our hearts.

Meet the Team

Katelyn – Founder & CEO

The heart and hands behind Wildflowers and Barley, Katelyn started this business to combine creativity, craftsmanship, and personal connection. She’s passionate about helping people express themselves through custom design—and believes nothing beats the look on someone’s face when they see their finished hat for the first time. Katelyn started her entrepreneurial journey with an online boutique, which led her to meet Grace.

Grace – Lead Designer & Co-Owner

Grace is the creative force behind many of Wildflowers and Barley's most striking designs. With a background in biology and manufacturing, and a lifelong love of fashion and fine detail, she brings a bold, elevated aesthetic to every hat that leaves the studio. As co-owner, she works side-by-side with Katelyn to lead both the custom design process and the overall creative direction of the brand. Grace is known for her precision, trend-savvy eye, and ability to turn a vision into something unforgettable.
